Section B – No Fault Accident Benefits

If you have been injured in a traffic accident, it is important to know that benefits are immediately available to you regardless of who is at fault. They are called Section B Benefits, or no fault accident benefits. All automobile insurance policies in New Brunswick are based on a model contract, which means that all policies, regardless of your insurance, have the same features and benefits.

Who is covered by Section B – No Fault Benefits?

Section B benefits cover anyone who has been in a motor vehicle accident, including passengers, cyclists and pedestrians, no matter who caused the accident.

What is covered by Section B Benefits?

There are three types of benefits:

  1. Loss of income benefits;
  2. Medical and Rehabilitation benefits;
  3. Death benefits to surviving relatives.
