U.S. cinnamon recalls: What Canadians need to know

Canadians don’t have to worry about throwing out their cinnamon for now, officials say.

South of the border, U.S. residents are being urged to throw out certain brands of ground cinnamon(opens in a new tab) after elevated levels of lead were found in several products.

The FDA warned lead exposure shows no obvious immediate symptoms. Long-term exposure to lead can cause serious health problems(opens in a new tab), especially in children.

Insignia™ Digital Air Fryers, Insignia™ Analog Air Fryers and Insignia™ Digital Air Fryer Ovens recalled due to potential fire hazard

This recall involves the Insignia™ Digital Air Fryers, Insignia™ Analog Air Fryers and Insignia™ Digital Air Fryer Ovens. The recalled products have cooking chamber capacities ranging from 3.4 to 10 quarts, and plastic or plastic and stainless-steel bodies. The brand name INSIGNIA is on the top or front of each unit. A rating label on the underside of each unit, identifies the brand INSIGNIA, model number, and other information.

Thousands of Insignia air fryer products recalled in Canada, U.S.

Cannondale and GT recall bikes with potential for head tube failure

Cannondale and GT are both issuing voluntary bike recalls for frames with a risk of serious failure. GT’s LaBomba and Cannondale’s Dave bikes are being recalled due to the risk that the head tube will separate from the frame. Due to the serious nature of such a defect, riders are obviously asked to stop riding potentially affected bikes immediately.

This recall involves two models of Starmaker brand USB wall chargers. Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the affected products pose an unreasonable risk of electric shock and fire.
