Recall Alerts: Frigidaire®/Kenmore Elite®, GM, NÜTRL & More Being Recalled This Week

This was a slow week for recalls in Canada (which is a good thing) but there are still some important recalls this week. There are appliances, housewares, vehicles, food and more on the list. Check out the recalls below:

Thousands of electric ranges recalled due to fire and burn hazards

Frigidaire® and Kenmore Elite® smooth-top freestanding electric range

Electrolux has announced an expanded recall involving certain models of Frigidaire® and Kenmore Elite® smooth-top freestanding electric ranges. These ranges, which feature rotary knobs and digital readouts, have been identified as posing fire and burn hazards. The recall affects units with specific model and serial numbers, which can be located on an information plate found by opening the drawer at the bottom of the range.

Sunscope recalls NÜTRL tumblers in Canada over potential hazards

A voluntary recall for a promotional tumbler in Canada has been issued due to possible consumer safety hazards. Sunscope has issued a voluntary recall across Canada for NÜTRL promotional tumblers, which were offered to consumers as a gift with purchase in April and May. Read More >>>

GM recalls 42,000 vehicles in Canada for air bag defect

General Motors said on Monday it will recall 42,000 sport utility vehicles in Canada from the 2014 through 2017 model years because the driver’s air-bag inflator may explode during deployment. Find out more >>>

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall, last week, for certain Frito Lay’s SunChips  and Munchies snack mix due to salmonella. The recall impacts SunChips Multigrains Harvest Cheddar snacks, Original Munchies Snack Mix, and Variety Packs Cheesy Mix. While some come in packs, others come in all sizes. Read more >>>

Recall on popular USB chargers sold by Amazon over ‘unreasonable’ electrical shock hazard

Health Canada has recalled certain USB charging devices sold on Amazon due to what it calls an “unreasonable risk of electric shock.” The charger is called the Power-7 Model US2018 and was sold in packs of five and two on Amazon.ca, according to Health Canada. Learn more >>>
