Summer is fast approaching. That means events are starting to ramp up around Atlantic Canada. This week’s installment of Maritime Road Trips – Destination Drives for the Week of June 7th to June 13th, 2024 has something for everyone. There are a wide variety of events all over the region, ranging from a car show to a rib festival and a nature festival to a music festival and events celebrating the arts, pets, books and more!

Festival of Nature

June 7 to 9, 2024 | Woodstock NB

The Festival of Nature is the annual fundraiser for Nature NB. This festival brings together nature lovers and naturalists to discover nature in a specific area. Participants are offered a wide variety of workshops, field trips, and experiences, so they get the most from the festival. At the end of the festival, there is a celebration banquet with good food, great company, silent auction, prize raffle, a cash bar, and fun entertainment.

Àros na Mara World Oceans Day Festival

June 6 to 9, 2024 | Iona, NS

Àros na Mara (Gaelic for House of the Sea) is a flourishing concept to develop a Marine Science Centre at the Barra Strait, for the purposes of research, education, and tourism and is teaming up once again for their 7th edutainment event.

Freddy Beach Ribfest

If you are hungry for ‘Heaven on Earth’ in the form of ribs then head down to the Freddy Beach to watch ‘Top Rib Cooks’ from across Canada run a 35-foot-long rib production machine that is specifically designed for maximum food enjoyment. Book & Bake Sale and Lobster Raffle

June 8 & 9, 2024 | Charlottetown, PEI

The Kirk of St. James Church in Charlottetown will be holding a Book & Bake Sale on June 8 from 9:30 am–1 pm, on the corner of Pownal & Fitzroy Streets.

There will be delicious home-baked goods, gluten-free treats and books to browse through including vintage, soft & hard cover, as well as puzzles & games. There will also be a Lobster Raffle with tickets for sale; first prize is $200 worth of lobster and second prize is $100 worth of lobster. The draw date will be June 8 following the sale. This sale is free admission, no ticket required.
